This posts details a theme intended for use on Ubuntu 13.04. The theme uses many elements of the Elegant Bird, a theme previously intended for xfce built on Elegant Brit and Greybird. The result is a clear theme with square windows and tidy title buttons for a simple yet stylish appearance.
One of my favourite GTK themes of all time was Elegant Cold Blue, a spin-off of Elegant Brit. I’ve decided to have a crack at porting it to Xubuntu 12.10. Along the way I’ve been able to make a few tweaks to the theme to make it more usable in xfce by utilising elements of Xubuntu’s default theme: Greybird. For a similar theme on Ubuntu checkout Elegant-Ambiance or Milieu Bird.
I’ve recently made the switch to Xubuntu 12.10 on my netbook (no unity-hate here, I just needed something a bit lighter). Though I love the default Greybird theme I thought I’d see if I could use Boomerang and the modifications I made to it noted in a previous posts.
A few people have asked me about the theme I’ve been using when showing off my multi-touch touch work so I thought I’d oblige. Its a GTK theme that I cobbled together myself for use with gnome environments. Here’s a screenshot of it in use on my Ubuntu 11.04 desktop.
